Whether you plan on painting your entire body in your school colors or just wear a hoodie and jeans to the game, sporting events are a great place to meet new people. Find a group of students who seems enthusiastic about the game and sit down and join them. It is extremely acceptable to go sit down with a crowd, so take advantage of that.
Dining Centers
The little used gold mine. If you see a girl eating by herself, go sit down with her. It would take a real bitter person not to let you sit down and have a meal with them. If you're with a friend and see a couple girls sitting at a table, go over and grab a seat. As soon as you are seated, you already have a captive audience.
Lines, Lines, Lines
I know this isn't exactly a place, but lines are a great place to make new contacts. No one likes to stand in line waiting by themselves. People typically get restless standing in line. It is almost awkward to stand in line without conversing with those around you, so don't be a zombie in the lines. Make chatter with those in front and behind you.
Rec. Center
Why do a lot of college girls wear sexy outfits to the gym? Let me tell you, it's not because it's comfortable. Personally, I was always hesitant to approach a girl working out until a conversation I had with a girl I know. She mentioned to me that she always tries to look her best when she goes to the gym but no one ever approaches her. After that moment, I made a conscious effort to open at the gym, and it is extremely successful. No fancy opener necessary, just go introduce yourself.
Classes
Classes are without a doubt one of the best places to meet women. You are probably wondering, "didn't this guy just tell me to focus on my grades?" To answer, yes, but I never said you can't multitask? Later in the book, an entire section is dedicated to classroom game. Refer to this section for more information.
The Dorms
I must be getting older, because I get criticized every time I call it a dorm. Apparently, the politically correct term is a residence hall, but I digress. Many residence halls are coed which obviously allows for interaction. For single sex residence halls, there are also some opportunities to meet women. Take advantage of them when they arise.
Around Campus
Know your way around your campus. Find the nice spots to sit and hang out. On nice days, you will always find people outside walking, doing homework or just out enjoying the day. Go out and be friendly.
The Bars and Clubs
The bars and clubs are the most obvious to get out and meet women. While it shouldn't be the only place you go, it can be a very good place to make new contacts. Go out and have a good time. If you are looking to be on top of your game, try to avoid getting too intoxicated.
House Parties
House parties are similar to the bars and clubs but typically a little more relaxed. They can be a great place not only to meet new people, but also to take the next step with a woman you are getting close to. Again, have a good time and avoid over indulging.
Campus Events
Colleges offer many different programs ranging from seminars to fun social events. Look at your school calendar and pick out a few events that you normally wouldn't think about going to. Show up with an open mind. You will be able to meet an entirely new group of people, and who knows, you might actually enjoy it. Most schools spend a large part of their budget on programs and speakers, so take advantage of them.
Anywhere I didn't mention
You can't be sure when you will meet someone that you could develop some kind of relationship with. Each of the above locations are good places to look, but always keep your eyes open. In a college environment, chances to open are limitless. No matter where you are, be ready to meet someone new.
